HUNDREDS of people are expected to turn out for a festive procession tomorrow.
Among the crowd at Bishop Auckland will be a host of angels and kings as youngsters from schools have been asked to wear theme costumes.
The Christmas parade will start at 6pm at the top of Newgate Street, next to Morrisons car park, and take 30 minutes to reach the Market Place.
The event, which is in aid of The Butterwick Hospice, will be led by Father Christmas in a vintage car. Members of the Air Cadets and Guides Association will also take part.
Music will be provided by pipe, brass and jazz bands and there will be a carol concert by children from eight primary schools who attended workshops organised by the Town Centre Forum.
A similar event last year attracted about 400 people and it is hoped this year will be even bigger.
