YOUNG adventure-seekers are appealing for help as they attempt to raise funds for the trip of a lifetime next year.
A party of fifth and sixth-formers at Durham School must each raise £3,000 to meet the cost of the World Challenge expedition to Mongolia in the summer.
During the four-week trip they will sleep under canvas while helping to rebuild the roof of an orphanage in a remote area of the central Asian country.
A quiz held at the school recently yielded £1,000 towards the target, and several of the 11-strong group have mounted their individual fundraising efforts.
But the public can do their bit for the cause by attending a Christmas fair in the sports hall of the Quarryheads Lane school, on Sunday from noon to 4pm.
There will be a Santa's grotto, face-painting, arts, crafts, tombola, bric-a-brac and other stalls.
