A COMMUNITY'S ten-year campaign to build a village school is reaching fruition as the building takes shape.
Already, its frame is in place and hopes are rising that pupils at Grewelthorpe Church of England Primary School, near Ripon, will be using the building by mid-April.
Half the cost of the £410,000 project has been raised locally and pupils anticipating the move to the hilltop site are charting the building's progress with the help of a digital camera.
Pictures of the school's growth from footings to completion will be used on a newly-established website about the school.
It is being created by years five and six with help and advice from Ripon College.
Headteacher Vanessa Oldfield said: "The children are delighted they will soon be moving into a new school and excited to see the progress being made."
