THE Under-12 Royals travelled to Low Fell on Sunday and played in treacherous conditions.
Royals were slow to start allowing Low Fell to score after four minutes but Royals started to dominate in the second quarter, Vicky Wray equalising from a rebound shot on 22 minutes.
Midfield trio Rebecca Toppin, Rebecca Pattison, Helen Morrison, made all the running, with several chances falling to Fiona Cantwell up front.
Alex Saunders always looked in command in defence with Jade White confidently clearing up alongside her, both always well organised. On 47 minutes Rebecca Pattinson scored from a shot on the edge of the box but Wray and Toppin narrowly missed chances in the final ten minutes.
The final score was Royals 2, Low Fell 1. Man of the match for Royals was Rebecca Toppin.

Durham City Ladies
THE Ladies earned a valuable point in a hard-fought local derby against neighbours Chester le Street.
In previous encounters it had always been Chester who had been victorious, but City dug in and battled with the visitors and were unlucky not to claim all three points themselves.
Before the match, City had problems with a lack of availability of goalkeepers and manager Stephen Hamil had to play defender Sarah Alexander in goal - but she did a great job between the sticks.
At the other end Durham went close on three or four occasions, Becky Welch, Magda Carr and Charlotte Rimmer could all have won the game for City with a little luck. But at the end of the day, at 0-0, it was perhaps a fair result.
Chester-le-Street Ladies
Oa heavy pitch both Chester-le-Street and Durham City battled hard but neither side could find their touch in front of the goal.
Chester-le-Street missed the pace of Natalie Gutteridge and Laura Darmody, but midfielder Rachel Furness had another outstanding game. In defence, very little got past Sarah Muir and Leanne Clark and goalkeeper Rachel Young had another impressive game.
