IT was just the most perfect of conditions for someone of the name of Drake - extremely wet!
Not surprisingly, Stanley FC striker Mark Drake was in his element as Stanley RAFA were to find out to their cost against the League Champions.
On course to retain their title, Drake struck five times for Stanley as they piled up an impressive 10-1 verdict.
Fellow striker Kraig Wilkinson managed another two goals and the others followed from David Hagan, Rowland Lee and John Tyman while substitute Lee Tweedy scored a late consolation goal for the RAFA.
The Garden Farm kept up their 100 per cent league record with an 8-1 win over South Moor Sports to move them into second place in the league.
Graham Cook struck a hat-trick with both Russell Bell and Jon Kelly scoring twice and Ian McCafferty rounded off the Farm's scoring with Chris Youll replying for the Sports.
Pelton Crown Inn had a excellent 8-1 win at home to Stanley Masons Arms. John Somerville rattled in four goals, there was a penalty from Del Swift and others from John Sexton, Grant Nattrass and an own goal by David Foreman. Colin Stobbard replied for the Masons though the win means the Crown move up two places in the league table.
In the Durham County Sunday Cup Pelton Fell WMC took the lead with a Frank Tiffen goal at Blackhall Cricket Club but the homer side equalised with just four minutes remaining and then grabbed a golden goal winner.

North East Christian Fellowship League
Ithe North East Christian Fellowship League Charity Shield Quarter Final, Keith Chaimbers gave Jesmond Parish Athenians an away lead at Bethshan Christian Centre before James Kitchen equalised. Chambers got his second with Jason Alexander giving them a 3-1 lead at the break but an own goal from Athenians manager, Tony Barber, put Bethshan right back in the match. Athenians held on for a 3-2 win and will be at home to Lanchester Chapel in the first leg.
In the semi final first leg, Stranton Saints Hartlepool took a 1-0 home lead through Martin Skiving against second division Saint Aidan's Chapel Castington. Paul Archer equalised after 15 minutes with no more scoring it is all set up for the second leg on December 14.
In division one Metro Church Sunderland went top of table with a win in a derby match against Monkwearmouth Christians. Metro took a 3-0 lead and eventually won 4- 1. Ryan Pender scored twice with strikes from Gareth Hern and Simon Normandale. George Churchill got Monkwearmouth's goal.
Consett Churches moved into third with a win at Stakeford Methodist Church. David Cooke (2), Martin Herdman, Darren Grundy and Andrew Poole gave Consett a 5-0 lead at half time. A penalty from Danny Vuong for Stakeford finished the scoring in a 5-1 win for Consett.
In Division Two, Heworth Christian Fellowship won at Yarm Emmanuel, Nick Rowling gave Heworth a 2-0 lead with David Fittes making it 3-0. Craig Laycock pulled a goal back for Yarm. John Bramley and Keith Vincent finished the scoring as Heworth won 5-1.
A goal in each half, for Billy Douglas of Bethany Christian Centre and Sam Cunningham for Jesmond Parish Corinthians meant they shared the points at 1-1.
Stockton Baptist Tabernacle scored a goal in each half at Heaton Hearts through Ian Heward and John Iley to give them a 2-0 victory.
