WIN, lose or draw on Sunday, Yorkshire FA Cup heroes Harrogate Railway will be given a civic reception to mark their giant-killing feats.
Members of Harrogate Borough Council have voted unanimously to give the Railway team and its management a civic reception, hosted by the Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Alan Skidmore.
After clearing six hurdles, Railway face the biggest match in their history at 11am on Sunday, when they host Division Two team Bristol City at their tiny Station View ground.
Councillor Mike Gardner proposed the council's congratulations to the club on its outstanding achievements. And the council also sent a good-luck message to the side.
Railway, who play in the Northern Counties' East League and normally attract about 100 spectators have catered for an all-ticket crowd of 3,600 by erecting temporary stands.
The Harrogate side are the most minor team left in the contest and could face a Premiership side next if they win.
