People in the North-East are being urged to hang on to their festive food jars this Christmas, to boost a national glass recycling campaign.
The aim of the initiative is to get people to recycle glass food jars, as well as bottles and other glassware.
Glasspac, the packaging promotions section of trade association British Glass, is running the campaign with the help of TV's Ready, Steady Cook chef Kevin Woodford.
He said: "The great thing about glass is it can be used again and again, so after the celebrations don't bin it, bank it at your local bottle bank."
