With winter golf conditions now in operation, members enjoyed their golf on Sunday in a team Texas scramble format.

The leading teams and scores were as follows: 56.1 Chris Nattrass, Keith Lawson, Steve Crampton (4.hep), 56.9 Paul Simmons, Mark Pennock, Inn Johnston, John Hunt (5.1hep), 57.9 Chris Smith, Marco Cucurullo, Rob Cullen. Bruce Kennerley. (5.1hep).

Last year Sun City, this year Mauritius, for Bedale's scratch golfer. Kevin's success in the Sunday Times (Play on Tour) competition has once again qualified him for a foreign golfing trip.

To qualify Kevin submitted cards over the season and the four best cards when measured against professional golfers achievements brought this reward. Kevin flies to Mauritius on January 13.

Seniors Dinner

The social night for the elderly golfers and their partners took place on Friday night in a full clubhouse. After an excellent dinner Bill Coom, the seniors Captain spoke of the pleasures of senior golf and proposed the toast to the Ladies and thanked them for their support. Alec Crow the Seniors Vice Captain echoed Bill's remarks and which led into the presentation of prizes by Audrey Heddon for the competitions played over the year.

Barclays Bank Cup - Gareth Jones and Am Brunskill. Runners up Keith Langford and Lea Kitching.

Members Cup - Brian Knapton. Runner up - John Corr.

Peter Pan Trophy (best six cards for over 75's) - George Tocher. Runner up - Norman Routh. Eclectic - Gareth Jones. Runner up, Noel Winstanley.

Seniors Medal - David Hoult.

Noel Winstanley rounded off the formal part of the evening with a delightful speech reviewing the agony and pleasure of his golfing year.

Senior Stableford

A Stableford competition this week for the elderly with the following leading scores: 44 points Noel Winstanley (11), 39 Gareth Jones (16), 38 Tony Howard (16), 34 Brian Knapton (12).
