Crook League: Crook Royal Sun's tilt for a trophy position was dented when they dropped three valuable points on their visit to Crook Spitfire Club.
The home side had singles wins from Gordon Walker and Mark Callaghan to add to the doubles of Eddie Phillipson and Dave Smith. The Royal Sun went to victory with singles wins from Graham Johnson, Wayne Smith, Ronnie Hope and Simon Bowey.
In the top match in the Second Division, Crook Surtees only managed to take two singles out of the visiting leaders, Willington Market. Chris Bainbridge and Alan Tomlinson won for the Surtees whilst the Market's points in the singles came from Tommy Barrass, Ian Moore, Paul Briddick and Stuart Shillan with Gary Tow and Paul Briddick adding the doubles.
Crook Olde Horse Shoe lead the First Division by 13 points from Crook Travellers Rest B, who are three points ahead of Crook Royal Sun. Willington Market are four points clear of Crook Jelly's Bar A at the top of the Second Division, with Crook Surtees a further five points adrift.

Ithe first round, Alan Greener proved to be Sherburn Village's hero when he took the deciding frame against the visiting Sean Johnston of Crowtrees A by a decisive 32 points.
The visitors received only three points start but were able to extend this to six points when Sonny Hann beat John Bower in a nail-biting first frame. However the home side raced in front when Scott Mallaburn beat Keith McLauchlan by 31 points in the second frame.
Phil Whitfield pulled Crowtrees back into the match when he beat Michael Crisp by eight points and Neil Phillips brought the teams level on points when he beat Peter McGowan by 17 points, only to see Crowtrees lose when Greener produced one of his best performances of the season in the decider.
Sherburn Village will now travel to Wingate on 17 December for the second round.
