ONE young golfer and three slightly older ones were the toast of the club when Woodham ladies held their presentation evening.
Retiring captain Margaret Nisbet praised the achievements of the ladies' section's youngest member Isobel Foley who beat all-comers to become club champion. She also won the most improved player award by reducing her handicap from 13 to seven and, with Richard Ketley, was runner-up in the mixed county foursomes.
And for the first time three Woodham members - Lesley Mullen, Liz Nelson and Terry Bowles - won the Bronze Division of the Durham County Thomlinson Cups challenge. Members voted Kay Mott, of Sedgefield, captain for 2003 and Margaret Russell, of Norton, vice-captain.
