TEES Valley Housing Group's latest development in Saltburn has been opened with the unveiling of a plaque for the scheme's first resident.
The group has developed 12 two-bedroom apartments in Milton Street, on the site of a disused garage.
When the garage became available for redevelopment in 1999, the group was invited by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council to draw up proposals for homes for people aged 55 and over in the area.
Three years on and the development, which overlooks the sea, is complete.
Ann Wilson, the first person to sign up to live in the apartments, has had her name installed on a plaque at the site, marking the date of the opening.
