LOCAL people have turned the tables on Councillor Mike Bury - in the nicest possible way.
Coun Bury, 51, is renowned for the petitions he organises to try to help his constituents.
But now he knows what it feels like to be on the receiving end after dozens of people signed a get-well petition after he fell ill with jaundice.
The illness has confined Coun Bury to bed at his home near Hampsthwaite, Harrogate.
Petition organiser Margaret Hardcastle said: "People thought it would be a good idea to turn the tables on Mike and send him a petition."
Coun Bury said: "I was totally taken by surprise. It really is nice that so many people have signed up to wish me well again."
