A COMPUTER lecturer is celebrating after winning his second major teaching award this year.
Professor Alan Clements, of the University of Teesside, is an expert in the field of computer hardware and has been awarded the Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Award, from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Prof Clements, from Acklam, Middlesbrough, is the first non-US citizen to win the award. He flew to America for the presentation of a plaque and a cheque for $2,000.
He said: "I was amazed to hear I had won the award and after I calmed down a bit, my wife and I made our plans to go to Boston to attend the awards banquet. It was a great night and made winning the award even more special."
Six months ago, he received a National Teaching Fellowship Award.
