POLICE were yesterday still trying to identity a pedestrian who was seriously injured when he was knocked down by a car on Friday.
The man is being treated in Hartlepool General Hospital for injuries he received when he was struck by the car at about teatime on Friday.
The man, who is about 40 years old, has a white moustache and very distinctive tattoos, and officers hope someone can help them identify him so his family can be informed about the accident.
It took place on Raby Road, Hartlepool, when a Fiat Punto, travelling north from the town centre, was in collision with the pedestrian, about 100 yards from the Hart Lane junction.
If you know who the man is or witnessed the accident, call (01642) 301558.
