THE two-month search for missing man Ian Turner has come to an end after the discovery of a body in a ditch.
Two women out riding their horses found the body in an isolated area near Norton, Malton, on Sunday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination has been held but the results have been inconclusive and further tests are required before the cause of death can be established.
And although the remains still have to be formally identified, police are satisfied they are those of Mr Turner, a 45-year-old, from Sherburn, near Scarborough.
Mr Turner was last seen when he left his home on September 30 and, despite repeated police searches, no trace of him had been seen since.
