Young artists saw their work in print yesterday, as a school launched its own range of Christmas cards.
Greencroft School, near Stanley, County Durham, ran a competition to design festive greeting cards. The winners, chosen from 110 entries, have been turned into the real thing by Andrew Douglas Printers, in Consett.
Karen Surtees, head of art at Greencroft, said: "The children really excelled themselves with the cards. Even the printers rang the school, just to say how lovely they were."
The prizewinners were Christy Davison in year seven, Kurt Whalley, year eight, Michael Hall, year nine, Melanie Wright, year ten and Hayley Fazakerley, year 11. The cards are on sale for £2 for a pack of ten, and are available from the school reception.
