STUDENT Javed Miah has been praised for his work for a Darlington crime prevention group.
Darlington Rural Watch turned to him for help after Joseph Dent, 13, who lives on a farm at Morton Tinmouth, near Darlington, won a competition to design the group's new logo.
Joseph's concept, featuring a set of binoculars, was transformed into artwork by Javed, 17, from Darlington, who is studying for a National Diploma in Graphic Design at the town's College of Technology.
Javed, whose skills have meant Joseph's design can be used on the group's letterheads, said: "I took his idea of someone watching and went with it."
Senior tutor Pippa Eeles said: "Javed worked really hard on it."
