A DRUG user was found dead by his brother after overdosing on cocaine and Ecstasy, an inquest heard yesterday.
Unemployed David Garnon, 36, was found in the bath at his home in Surtees Street, Darlington, by his younger brother, Anthony, in April.
Anthony Garnon, 35, who later killed himself, told police that his brother was a regular drug user who smoked crack cocaine, Darlington Coroner's Court heard.
A post-mortem examination found high levels of cocaine and Ecstasy in David Garnon's body.
Darlington and South Durham Coroner Colin Penna recorded a verdict of death by misuse of drugs.
"It's obvious in a case like this that Mr Garnon was used to taking the drugs," he said.
"The trouble is, with all drugs, they can be unpredictable."
Anthony Garnon, also of Surtees Street, was found hanging from a climbing frame five days after the stabbing of his friend, John Robertson, in a Darlington street in September.
An inquest heard that he had been depressed after the deaths of both Mr Robertson and his older brother.
