A MAN used another vehicle's tax disc on a car he had bought in a pub, a court heard.
Richard Rees, 48, of Barningham Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty at Darlington Magistrates' Court to fraudulent use of a car tax disc, driving with no insurance, no MoT and not in accordance with his licence.
The court heard that a traffic warden saw a car outside Rees' house and noticed the tax disc had been made out for another vehicle.
The next day he returned with another traffic warden who saw the fraudulent disc. When asked about the car, Rees said he had bought it two weeks earlier from a man in a pub and refused to remove tax disc.
The police were called and Rees threatened the officer.
Rees said he was drunk when the police were called and apologised.
He was fined £150 with £55 costs. Eight points were put on his licence which meant that under the topping-up procedure he was also banned from driving for six months.
