A BOOK swap caught on camera has won a Richmond museum a national award.
The National Reading Campaign's Read On initiative aimed to encourage discussion about books by challenging people to come up with pictures of book swaps in unusual locations.
The Red Devils Parachute Display Team was among the top entrants.
They took photographs of an exchange as two members plummeted from 8,000ft at more than 100mph.
However, as the title of the books was blurred, the Green Howards Museum in Richmond also shared the top prize for a picture showing work experience student David Regan, handing a book on computers to museum assistant Paul Cooper, who was offering a book on the battle of the Somme in return, with a replica of the Cenotaph, in Whitehall, as a backdrop.
The museum's curator, Major Roger Chapman, said: "Giving a book about a First World War battle to our young helper underlined the importance that the Green Howards Museum places on education."
