Gt Ayton v Anchor Inn
The game came alive early in the second half, when a free kick for Anchor, taken by Shaun Strike, was not defended well and found it's way into the Ayton net. This prompted the home team to raise their game. A period of attacking football by Ayton, in particular, Grainge in midfield, resulted in a penalty which Leng converted to level the score. It was Ayton who took the lead when Gawthorpe steered the ball past Stinton. A third, and match winning, goal for Ayton was created by Busby, who collected the ball from his keeper, Sonley, and broke down the left, dodging two defenders, to hit the bar, the ball fell for Hunton to start a passing move with Leng who set up Grainge to beat the keeper.
