League leaders Spennymoor Voltigeur visited last season's champions, Bishop Auckland King's Head and, with wins from Dean Mains, Ronnie McAloon, Tony Biddle and Darren Briggs, looked worthy of their top spot, opening up a 4-0 lead.

However, the King's showed that they aren't giving up their title easily and replied with four straight wins of their own, with points being taken by Warren Stamp, Andrew Tuesday, David Jacomb and Steven West. The final two singles were shared with Ronnie McAloon and Warren Stamp both chalking up their second wins to leave the score at 5-5. The doubles were also shared with the home side's Andrew Tuesday and David Jacomb taking the first game and Dean Mains and David Graham taking the second game for the visitors. With the match still tied it was the captain's game which would be the decider and this was won by Steven West for the home side to give the Kings a narrow 7-6 victory.

For the third time in 11 matches Ferryhill Station Eldon Arms managed to win all ten singles points, only two other teams, Bishop Auckland Derby and Spennymoor Voltigeur have even managed this feat once. Their unfortunate opponents this week were Bishop Auckland Grand B team. Phil Cox, Terry Wray, John Mason, Steve Wray and Simon Corbridge each collected two points with Steve and Terry Wray combining to take the first doubles point too. Phil Young and Derek Cooper took the second doubles game as a consolation for the visitors before John Mason made the score an emphatic 12-1 with victory in the captains.

Steven Webb (Manor) and Dean Mains (Voltigeur) are tied for the most singles wins with 20 wins out of 22 games played. Steve Wray (Eldon Arms) is third with 19 out of 22 and Darren Briggs (Voltigeur) is fourth with 16 out of 22.

The Brewer's clinched victory when they took the first two doubles through Phil Blyth with Tony Atkinson and Jeremy Martin with Paul Atkinson. Cottles came back again with a good win in the final doubles where Jay Baird and Barry Lauder beat Billy Wragg and Steven Britton.
