In week ten Guisborough TA chalked up their first victory of the season when playing away to Redcar Lakes B. Stewart Briggs got Guisborough off to a flier when winning both of his games against Graham Marshall by 66-52 and 44-35.
Brian Norris leveled the match at two frames each after beating Gary Nicholson 62-60 and 61-22.
Alan Bringloe made sure of the victory when beating Neil Grey 74-26 and 54-8. Guisborough TA were worthy winners on the night 4-2 but will need to continue this sort of form if they are to avoid relegation. The big match this week was between League Leaders Redcar Workies A and second placed Saltburn Cons. A. The Workies won this match 4-2 during which Scott Hardy Burns compiled a 54 break and Richard Beckham compiled breaks of 41 and 76. This has now pushed the Workies nine points clear of their closest rivals.
Third-placed Redcar Lakes A beat visitors Carlin How A 4-2, Gary Beckett, of the Lakes, compiled an excellent 59 break during this match. New Marske A got back to winning ways after whitewashing visitors, Redcar Lakes C 6-0. The Redcar Unionist's A team also chalked up a good home result beating Grinkle Park 5-1. Marske Workies A also recorded the same home result much to the misfortunes of Lune Street B In the final match of the week Guisborough Cons. A were held to a 3-3 tie by the Redcar Cons. A team.
In Division Two Carlin How's B team recorded an excellent 5-1 home win against Redcar Lakes D. Mark Agar won his first game against Sean Wilson 58-33. Wilson then won the next game 50-34 to level the match at one frame each. Eric Wheatman made it 3-1 after beating Dave Grange 55-15 and 62-23. Andrew Wiseman then made certain of the win after beating Steve Leech with scores of 59-31 and 45-35. Guisborough Quoit also recorded an excellent 5-1 home win against opponents Guisborough Cons. B. This result has pushed them back into second place. Another 5-1 home win was chalked up by the Redcar Workies B team against visitors Saltburn Cons. B. Val's Priory were held to a 3 -3 tie by visitors Ennis Square B during which Robert Cox compiled an excellent 40 break.
Marske Workies B also accumulated three valuable points when tying their match at Lune Street A.
