CYCLISTS are being asked to get on their bikes once more to help the country's biggest cancer charity next year.
One of 12 national Cycle for Life events was staged by Cancer Research UK in the Durham area in the summer when a field of more than 200 competitors took part over a 30km course.
Organisers are hoping to increase the entry this summer when County Durham again features as part of a wider 18-event Cycle for Life national series.
In a bid to attract more interest the course has been trimmed to one of 15 miles, using mainly B-roads and cycleways, to make it a congestion-free ride for entrants.
The start and finish line will again be at Meadowfield Sports Centre, with the event already pencilled in for August 17. Anyone interested in taking part, regardless of ability or age, can contact Cycle for Life organiser Melanie Heath, on (01482) 709532
