A NORTH Yorkshire school is celebrating the outstanding success of its under-16 girls' football team.
The team from Wensleydale School, Leyburn has won the area championships for three consecutive years and two of its members have been selected for the North Yorkshire county team.
They are 16-year-old midfielder Leanne Musgrave and centre forward Jodi Ewart, who is 14.
Lee Wasden, head of PE at the school, said: "Girls' football seems to be going from strength to strength and I am so pleased for both girls.
"Jodi also plays golf for England and is in the top ten in the under-16s category - so there is not a lot that she can't do."
Last month former Wensleydale School pupil Michael Dawson, who plays for Nottingham Forest, took part in an England squad training session.
