S'land 24/7 6 v 1 Spraire Lasses
The first quarter saw both teams battling and scoring. SAFC added two more goals in the second quarter and then took control int he third quarter, scoring one more, although the Spraire keeper, and player of the match, Katie McTague, made some excellent saves. In the final quarter SAFC scored two more goals. Both teams showed some good football and goals came from, SAFC, Lauren Ramshaw, Jade Clarke, Holly Taylor (3) and player of the match Abby Holmes. For Spraire, Jordan Atkinson.
Marton 7 v 4 Boldon
Marton's Becky Robinson opened the scoring after two mniutes and then added to their lead with two goals from Felicity Middleton. It was 3-0 at the end of the second quarter. In the third quarter Boldon scored their frist of the afternoon through Stacey Bonney only to see Felicity Middleton complete her hat-trick and Becky Robinson score her second of the day making it 5-1 at the end of the third quarter. Sammy Conroy scored Marton's sixth before Boldon staged a comeback. Stacey Bonney completed her hat-trick and Stephanie Shaw scored Boldon's fourth. Marton replied straight away through Steph Chisman. This was a really entertaining cup tie. Players of the match were Felicity Middleton and Stacey Bonney. Scorers for Marton were: Samantha Conroy, Stephanie Chisman, Rebecca Robinson (2) and Felicity Middleton (3). Scorers for Boldon were Stephanie Shaw and Stacey Bonney (3).
Under-12 - League
Seaton 2 v 11 Norton & S'ton Anc.
Scorers for Seaton were Lucy Beha (2) and player of the match was Jessica Coates. Scorers for NASA were Emily Wilson (3), Claire Armstrong (2), Phillipa Thomas (3) nad 1 each for Kate McGuire, Robyn Sharp and Ellie Wombwell. Player of the match for NASA was Phillipa Thomas
St. Francis Girls 1 v 10 St'ton W. End
St. Francis had the bare seven although they never gave up. Stockton West End were a well organised side who passed the ball well. Scorers for Stockton were: Vicki Hutchinson (4), Olivia Inman and Sara Ellis (5). Players of the match were Natasha Collins and Vicki Hutchinson.
Under-13 - Cup semi-finals
Norton & S'ton Ancients 2 v 3 Lumley
After leading 1-0 and then 2-1, NASA fell to a Lumley side whose attackng play just about deserved to win a very good end to end game. Goals for NASA came from Andrea Tomkins (2) and for Lumley from Sarah Unwin (3). Players of the match were Rachel Jamieson and Natalie Garrott.
Blyth Town 1 v 2 Boldon Girls
Blyth started well deserving to take the lead with a well taken goal from Girl of the match Rachel Lee, but despite being on top Blyth were unable to increase their tally. However Boldon came more into the game in the second period scoring their first with a header from Jane Riddel at the back post from a well placed corner. Both teams continued to create chances with Sara Scovell playing in goal for Blyth tipping a Boldon shot onto the bar. Abbie Young played an important role in defence for Blyth, at the same time Boldons defence held firm with Joanne Moncur putting in a player of the match performance for the visitors. With the scores level going into the final period it was Boldon who broke the deadlock with a fortuitous goal that looped up spinning into the air beyond the keeper and agonisingly into the Blyth goal. Blyth pushed for the equaliser but were unable to score despite creating some good opportunities. A good game to watch played to a high standard and a great advert for girls football.
Under-14s - League
Blyth Town 4 v 2 Marton Girls
In a one-sided first half Blyth took the lead after ten minutes through Carol Ann Hughes and continued to press. Ten minutes before half time Carol Ann Hughes scored twice more to complete her hat-trick and make the half time score 3-0. Immediately after half time Marton scored and then it was game on with Marton playing some brilliant counter-attacking football and 15 minutes later scored again to make the score 3-2 to Blyth. Both teams played really good football and ten minutes from time sub Rachel Lee scored to extend Blyth's lead from this point Blyth regained their composure and remained on top until the final whistle. This was a perfect advert for girls football as all spectators agreed. Scorers for Marton were player of the match Elisha Fry and Angela Armstrong with player of the match for Blyth going to Michaela Newton.
Under-18s - League
Lumley v Marton
A good match played between two evenly-matched teams with Lumley taking the lead only to see Marton reply straight away. Lumley then raced into a 4-1 lead with Marton pulling one back just before half time. An early strike in the second half saw Marton back in the game and saw them on top until Lumley broke down the right with player of the match Sarah Price curling in a great goal to complete her hat-trick. Marton refused to lie down and scored their fourth goal which finished the scoring with their player of the match Vicky Longstaff being a constant threat. Scorers for Marton were Lucy Martin (2) and one each for Lauren Edgwick and Katie Parkin.
