TWO 19th Century vases are have taken pride of place in the entrance hall of a Teesdale museum.
The Bowes Museum has acquired the two vases, commissioned in 1849 by Englishman Samuel Scott.
They were designed to a drawing that stills survives in the factory's archives.
They had been in a French collection for 50 years, but The Bowes Museum was able to buy them with grants from the National Art Collections Fund, the Resource/Victoria and Albert Grant Fund and The Friends of The Bowes Museum.
