A MAN who stole credit cards from a leisure centre and used them to make purchases in a nearby high street has been targeted by Crimestoppers.
Six months ago, a man stole credit cards, money and Land Rover keys from four lockers at the Hambleton Leisure Centre in Northallerton.
He was seen driving away from the centre in the stolen car just after midday on Friday, June 28. Half-an-hour later he entered Tescos superstore, in East Road, where he tried to use one of the credit cards to buy cigarettes, but left empty-handed when staff became suspicious.
He tried to use the cards in two more stores in the high street, managing to obtain goods and cash from the frozen food chain Iceland.
The suspect is black, approximately 6ft 2in and stocky. He was wearing a cream, hooded sweatshirt, jeans and orange trainers. Anyone who recognises the man or who knows anything about the incident is asked to contact Crimestoppers free on (0800) 555111.
