PUDDINGS made in North Yorkshire have been voted the best in the country.
People had already been swapping traditional Christmas puddings for special treat laced in cognac, available only from Lewis and Cooper stores in Northallerton and Yarm, and other selected outlets across the region.
But the product's popularity has soared since it was named the top food treat this Christmas in The Independent newspaper.
Company managing director, Tony Howard, said: "We are absolutely delighted. I always have one of these in my house at this time of year."
