POLICE in east Cleveland seized their 250th vehicle as part of their campaign to crack down on road tax dodgers, Operation Cubit.
The police have been running the operation several days a month since it began in May.
Sergeant Mike Cane, from Eston Police Neighbourhood Task Group, said: "These vehicle owners are flagrantly breaking the law. Many untaxed vehicles also have no policy of insurance and others are involved in crime.
"If we see an untaxed vehicle, we will remove it instantly to a compound with no arguments."
The operation is a joint initiative between police, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and the DVLA and further days are planned next year.
