DURHAM County Council will be holding a festive bike ride and walk on the Durham coast.
The events, held tomorrow and on Monday, follow previous successful initiatives organised as part of the Sustainable Health for Easington project.
The On yer Bike Yuletide Ride starts at 10.30am tomorrow, from Shotton Colliery playing field, off the B1280.
It will follow the East Durham Cycleway to Crimdon, before returning to Shotton in the afternoon.
People are being encouraged to wear Christmas costumes or decorated cycle helmets.
On Monday, people will be stepping out to take part in the Christmas Health Walk.
The walk has been organised as part of the White Lea Health Walk Scheme, an initiative developed by the council, Easington Health Promotion Service and the National Trust.
The one-and-a-half-mile guided walk is suitable for all ages and abilities and starts at 10.30am from the former Easington Colliery pit site car park and will finish at about 11.30am with refreshments at White Lea Farm.
To take part in the events, call 0191-383 3745.
