A 22-year-old woman was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital with leg injuries after the car she was in crashed into a lamp post on the A19 near the A1058 slip road at Wallsend on Friday night.
She was cut free by firefighters. The driver was taken to hospital suffering from shock.
LIFEBOAT CASH: The Durham branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has collected £7,903 this year with flag days and store collections, including its first flag day at Bishop Auckland, which raised £356.
