A MATURE college student has received an award for vocationally related learning.
Eileen Kean, 38, received the accolade for the hard work and successful qualifications she has gained from Ripon College, North Yorkshire.
She attended this year's Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations Recognising Achievements Awards in London, and was presented with her prize at the fourth annual award ceremony by BBC television newsreader Fiona Bruce.
After a 20-year study break, it took courage and discipline to study for a range of qualifications, including business administration and communication.
Mrs Kean said: "I am thrilled to receive this award. I have enjoyed helping other students through professional and personal interaction, particularly when organising private study periods."
