OVER-50s from west Middlesbrough got into the festive spirit yesterday when they joined primary school pupils at their nativity performance.
The Friendship Group joined youngsters from Whinney Banks Infant School and the Netherfield Belles at Trinity Methodist Church, on Stainsby Road, for their Christmas party.
Last month the group, funded by West Middlesbrough New Deal for Communities, provided residents with hints, tips and a demonstration on how to make Christmas cards and decorations.
New members are always welcome at the Friendship Group, which meets every third Monday at Trinity Methodist Church Hall, Whinney Banks.
Next year's programme is already being developed with ideas including travel videos and slides, aromatherapy and talks from local community police.
The group meets between 2pm and 4pm. For details, call (01642) 231 560.
