A TEAM of entertainers will help villagers celebrate the festive season.
Christmas Spirit, an acclaimed family entertainment by the four-person drama group Blaize, will be performed in the parochial hall at Sowerby, near Thirsk, on Saturday.
The evening of stories, music, and drama centres around the theme of four people gathering in their village hall to plan and prepare for the Christmas show.
They squabble, philosophise, rehearse songs, and tell stories until they are ready for a glimpse of what future Christmases may hold when Jacob Marley's ghost drags them kicking and screaming across the footlights.
The performance celebrates the £100,000 National Lottery Award for Sowerby Parochial Hall, and is organised by St Oswald's Church to bring top-flight seasonal entertainment to the community.
Tickets are £6 for adults and £3 for children, and are available in advance from Sowerby Post Office, and Hambleton Books and White Rose Books, in Thirsk.
Seating will be arranged around tables so numbers are limited.
There will be a licensed bar for wine, beer, and soft drinks.
