A MIX of music will usher in Christmas week in Ripon - and it is hoped that the evening planned this weekend will help the drive for a new one-stop community office in the city.
Both the Mayor of Ripon, Councillor Bernard Bateman, and the Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Alan Skidmore, are backing the bid to find a single base for all Ripon's voluntary organisations.
The Ripon Christmas Spectacular, at the cathedral on Saturday night, aims to raise cash towards the project.
Ripon Choral Society, St Cecilia's Orchestra and Ripon's youth choirs will all be performing, as well as the city's own all-girl pop band, Blaze.
Tickets can be bought in advance at the cathedral shop, from Ripon Travel in both Ripon and Boroughbridge as well as Ripon's Tourist Information Centre.
