AN inquest into the death of a 68-year-old man who plunged 30ft, landing in a disused nightclub car park will be opened today.
Brian Lonsdale, of Guisborough, was seen falling from a road above on to the site at the derelict K2 club, in Queensway, Billingham, at about 7pm on Saturday. Police say there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death but anyone with information is asked to call Stockton police on 01642 326 326.
PARTY TIME: Youngsters can celebrate Christmas at Southlands Leisure Centre, in Middlesbrough, from 1pm to 3pm, on Saturday. The centre is running two parties side-by-side. The under-fives party includes seasonal games and activities, a disco, party tea and treats. They must be accompanied by parents. ROLLER DISCO: Youngsters aged five and over are being invited to a Christmas roller disco from 1pm to 3pm on Christmas Eve, at the Rainbow Leisure Centre, Coulby Newham. Music will be provided by the Rainbow resident DJ and there will also be games and prizes. Tickets are £1.75 and are available from the reception. Skaters need to bring their own boots. CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION: The Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, in Stewart Park, Middlesbrough, is presenting a Christmas celebration for all the family today, from 10.30am to 11.30am. THANK YOU: The Teesside Hospice Care Foundation has thanked one of its volunteers for her hard work in raising more than £1,500 for the hospice. Rosie Stevenson, of Stokesley, raised the funds with the support of members of Stokesley Social Club, where she held an evening in aid of the hospice and organised a number of raffles.
