Bishop Auckland College has played host to a delegation of headteachers from China,who stopped off during an education fact-finding mission.
The group from Shezen are exploring further education across the UK and are spending 12 weeks studying the English language and educational management at Durham University.
At Bishop Auckland they met students from Bangladesh, Bolivia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines and Vietnam and toured the Woodhouse Lane site with the college's international officer, Caroline Tucker.
They examined hairdressing and childcare facilities, as well as a digital enrolment procedure which uses electronic images of staff, students and visitors.
Chris Anderson, head of teacher training and development at Durham University, said: "The university was delighted to have the support of local further education colleges and secondary schools in the successful completion of the project.
