THE Queen's Golden Jubilee has provided the inspiration for a Christmas card exhibition.
Christmas 1953 is the title of the display at County Hall, Durham, which opened this week.
It has been created by people from County Durham Care's residential, extra-care, daycare, and training and resource centres, who entered the eighth annual competition to design the organisation's Christmas card.
The contest, which is split into card design and verse sections, attracted 400 entries.
It was judged by County Durham Care's head of service, Duncan Callum. The winner of the card design section was Margaret Welsh, who attends the Springfield Day Care Unit, at Wellfield House, Murton.
Gladis Parkinson, of Southfield Lodge Extra Care Development, in Crook, won the verse section.
Cards incorporating the winning design and verse have been printed and will be used as County Durham Care's official card, as well as being available to order.
The winners were joined by friends and family for a prize presentation at County Hall yesterday.
