DIVISION ONE: Carlin How 0, Thornaby YC 3
These two teams have already met twice this season. In the opening minutes of this match the game was very even and both keepers were kept busy. The deadlock was broken in the 24th minute when a Marty Moore free kick was met at the corner of the home sides six yards box by Robert Shaw to head home his first for the season. Nicky Ward had a chance in a one on one situation with keeper Hine in the Thornaby goal, with the keeper coming out on top. In the 33rd minute the hosts were made to pay for missed chances when a corner again from Moore was met with a neat flicked header by Chris Burton to give the Youth Club a 2-0 half time lead. In the 67th minute saw Moore score the goal of the game when he returned the ball over the head of the keeper from all of 40 yards to secure the win, three minutes later Jason Draper was sent off.
Grangetown BC 5, New Marske SC 1
Grangetown Boys Club were shocked by visitors New Marske Sports Club, when Gary Bickerstaff gave the visitors an early lead. The Boys Club drew level through Ian McGowan, and then took a 3-1 lead into half time with further goals from McGowan in the 34th and 36th minute. In the second half the Boys Club had to withstand an opening five minutes of constant pressure from the visitors, but in the 53rd minute Grangetown broke and took a 4-1 lead through that man McGowan again. This seemed to knock the stuffing from the visitors and it came as no surprise when Grangetown extended their lead to 5-1, once again through McGowan, this time from the penalty spot.
Mackinlay Park 0, Nunthorpe Ath 6
Redcar side Mackinlay Park slip to their 13th defeat of the season. Peter Boldison gave the visitors a 30th minute lead, he then added a second five minutes later to give Nunthorpe a 2-0 half time lead. After an even opening second half Scott Robson with his first of the season made it 3-0, before Boldison grabbed his hat trick goal on the hour, Craig Winter with his first of the season then made it 5-0 in the 72nd minute before Boldison grabbed his fourth of the game and.
Stokesley Sports Club who are bottom of the League have battled all the way the way to get the points to climb of the bottom, they entertained Bedale who with Thornaby FC match against Richmond Town postponed, could go top. Bedale took the lead of and evenly contested match when the Stokesley defence back off the approaching Mark Partridge who let fly from the edge of the penalty box to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. In the second half Middleditch had a header cleared off the line and the home side had a number of other chances but with ten minutes remaining Wayne Gredziak with his 20th of the season secured the three points that sent tem top of the table.
Whitby Town Res 2, BEADS FC 4
Home side Whitby Town Reserves took a 20th minute lead on a very heavy pitch through John Williams; Middlesbrough visitors BEADS drew level five minutes later through Daniel O'Riordan. But the home side struck back five minutes before half time when Glenn Smith scored his 6th of the season to gave the home side a 2-1 lead going into the half time break. Five minutes into the second half Paul Chamberlin made it 2-2 before O'Riordan with his second of the match and 5th of the season gave the visitors the lead for the first time in the 70th minute, the home pressed forward looking for an equaliser but in the 82nd minute Chamberlin with his second of the match and 7th of the season secured the points for the visitors.
DIVISION TWO
Guisb Town Res 0 Billingham Wndrs 2
Guisborough Town Reserves mini revival stuttered to a halt, when they entertained Billingham Wanderers who haven't had a match for a fortnight. Thompson gave the visitors the lead with his 9th of the season and Jonathan Stewart added the second to dash the Guisborough sides hope of getting back into the match.
SMG Redstripes 4, Dormans FC 0
Billingham side SMG Redstripes completed the double over second placed Dormans. After an evenly contested first quarter, Tony Insall gave SMG the lead after 20 minutes, ten minutes later Lee Johnston, who scored in the early win, made it 2-0 gaining into the half time break. Ten minutes into the second half Insall with his second of the match and of the season gave the home side a 3-0 lead before substitute Alex Degiorgis with his 10th of the season wrapped up the win.
Whinney Banks 2 Darlington SRM 3
Middlesbrough side Whinney Banks unbeaten in three League matches, but out of the Challenge Cup after last week's defeat, agreed to Darlington SRM request to switch venues as their pitch was cup up following their 5-0 win over Roddymoor in the Auckland Cup, the match was very even but in the 40th minute Gavin Harris gave SRM the lead, a minute later the match was all square going into the half time break when Peter Clark scored. Three minutes into the second half Peter Thorns, who scored a hat trick in last weeks win, gave SRM the lead for the second time. Whinney Banks battled back but had to wait until the 85th minute before Dave Barnes with his 3rd of the season made it 2-2, but with only two minutes remaining on the clock Thorns popped up to score the winner with his second of the game and 7th of the season.
DURHAM COUNTY TROPHY
Darlington RA Res 2 Brandon Station 5
Darlington RA Reserves were hoping to reach the semi-finals of the Durham Trophy and raced into a 2-0 half time lead thanks to goals from Scott Bowley in the 15th and 44th minute. But the game turned in favour of visitors Brandon Station ten minutes into the second half when the home side had Michael Weston sent off and Brandon Station went on to score five times against the ten men of Darlington RA Reserves who disappointingly bowed out.
Winlaton Hallgarth 2 Teesside Arriva 3, aet
Hartlepool side Teesside Arriva fell behind to hosts Winlaton Hallgarth in this Durham Trophy quarter final, Jewitt on target after only ten minutes, but Neil Hay scored following a breakaway when Paul Malcolmson laid a great ball off to Hay who made it 1-1 in the 20th minute. Twenty minutes later Arriva took the lead for the first time when a Lee Haggan cross was met by Malcolmson who got to the ball at the same time as the keeper and a defender to flick the ball home to make it 2-1 at half time. In the second half on a very heavy pitch Winlaton pushed forward and drew level in the 76th minute when a corner was met by a Winlaton forward at the same time as Kevin Auton who header flew into this side own gal to make it 2-2 and send the game into golden goal extra time. In the extra time the match seesawed backwards and forwards but in the last minute of the extra time Neil Newton scored the goal that put Arriva through to the semi-finals.
AUCKLAND CHARITY CUP
Darlington CB 2 Crook Town Wndrs 1
Darlington Cleveland Bridge haven't played a League game since a 1-1 draw with Teesside Link back on the 12th October, Cup commitments and a number of postponed matches have limited their league commitments. In this quarter final of the Auckland Charity Cup they fell behind to visitors Crook Town Wanderers after only fifteen minutes, but drew level in the 30th minute when Wayne Buckley made it 1-1, this remained the half time score. Three minutes into the second half Lee Hammond gave the Cleveland Bridge the lead and despite both side creating a number of chances the score remained in favour of the Darlington side that reached the semi-final.
