Rohm and Haas JUC Hetton Youth League

Lumley produced one of their best performances of the season when they met Sacriston in the league's Subsidiary Cup.

The Cestrians scored five times in each half as they romped to a 10-1 victory over their visitors who have yet to gain a point in the league.

Simon Dolman maintained his excellent scoring record, hitting the net four times including once from the penalty spot. Mark Younger and Christopher Yates both scored twice and the misery of Sacriston was completed when Wayne Booth and Hamzah Shalzhi also found the net.

In the league Jarrow St Bedes joined Lumley in pole position when they saw off the challenge from neighbours Hebburn by a 4-0 margin. The result means that St Bedes have won all six games while Lumley have conceded three points out of a possible 21.

Jarrow were much the better side and goals from Paul Burrell (2), William Gage and Aidan McAffery earned St Bedes their sixth consecutive victory.

At the other end of the table, Lambton Street gained their first point in five games when they held third from top Ryhope to a 2-2 draw. Jake Scott and Richard Hall netted for Ryhope.

Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League

North Tyneside College had not gained a point in their first six games but they certainly celebrated at the weekend when they hammered Prudhoe Town 8-0.

Shaun Graham (2), Stephen Black (2), Paul Jopling (2), Adrian Surrey and Graham Smith all scored for the college who moved up to third from bottom. Prudhoe have failed to gain a point from eight games and so too have Consett who suffered a defeat at West Denton despite scoring three goals. Daniel Craggs, with a brace of goals and Andrew Green raised the hoped of Consett but West Denton finished 5-3 ahead with strikes from Mark Rutherford (2), Craig Horsefall (2) and Tony Murray.

Redheugh, who were without a game, still have a one point lead over Chester-le-Street at the top of the table, with Walker Central and West Denton also in close contention.

New County North Durham Youth League

Consett moved into second position in the U16 division when their game at Beamish was the only one to be played. The Steelmen romped to a 4-0 win with goals by Andrew Whitfield (2), Jonathan Kemp and Paul Bellett. All other fixtures were postponed.

Just one game was played in the U17 division and Redheugh hammered Swalwell 10-0 to take over pole position. Chris Laws rifled six goals and both Aidan Atkinson and David Small bagged a brace.

Consett U17s were engaged in the Durham County U18 Cup and progressed with a 5-1 victory at home to Durham Athletic. Daniel Appleby (2), Paul Leighton, John Page and Chris Megson were the marksmen.

Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

Redheugh produced the biggest score of the day in the U11 division when they put seven goals past Leam Rangers who failed to reply. Most of the goals were credited to Ross Heslop and Shane Coulson who each scored three times. A brace of goals by Adam Cameron enabled Winlaton to see off the challenge from Beamish for whom Michael Hancock also scored twice while Hebburn and Felling drew 3-3. Andrew Chaters scored all three goals for Felling.

In the U12 section Swalwell edged Winlaton 3-2 but Chopwell had a much easier task as they ran out 6-0 victors over Cleveland Hall. David Fitzpatrick and Lee Best both hit a couple of goals.

Whickham Fellside R hit nine goals past Blaydon who failed to find the net. Ben Thompson, Chris Smith and Mark Ainsley all hit hat tricks for Whickham.

A couple of goals by Lee Potts enabled Consett to edge Redheugh 3-2 at U13 level. Chris Dunn hit a hat trick in Winlaton's 6-3 victory over Low Fell C and two goals from Connor Reed enabled Blackfyne to take the points in their home fixture with Low Fell B. David Armstrong was another player to score twice as Leam Rangers defeated Blaydon 4-1.

In the U14 division Craig Paley scored all three goals as Beamish ended 3-1 in front of Burnside and in the U14 League cup, Redheugh defeated Cleveland Hall 5-0.

Blaydon were engaged in the Durham County U14 Cup and comfortably progressed at the expense of South Tyneside Rangers. Shaun Vipond (2) and Craig Watson (2) each scored twice in a 6-1 victory.

Just one game was played in the U15 section and Redheugh and Blackfyne fought out an exciting 4-4 draw. Craig Stephenson scored three times for the Reds and Scott Nicholson twice for Blackfyne.

Hungry Jacks

The points were share inn the local derby game Hungry Jacks v Northallerton Juniors.

As expected both teams contested every loose ball, Northallerton went in front early in the game. Martin Edgar making his debut equalised for Jacks and Daniel Wright put Jacks deservedly in front at half time 2-1. In the second half Northallerton Juniors put Hungry Jacks under a lot of pressure testing the defence, Jacks held out with ten minutes to go when Northallerton got a deserved equaliser making the final score 2-2. Man of the match was captain Jason Bradley.

Hungry Jacks are looking for players to join the team as they only have 11 team players signed on and are looking for any under 13s or year 8s to come along and join. If anyone is interested in joinning the team call (01609) 770165.

Brompton

Brompton U16s v Darlington Albion U16s Cup Semi Final

Brompton had all the early pressure and created a number of chances which through poor finishing and good goalkeeping kept the scores level. Midway through the first half Brompton took the lead when a through ball from Colin Clemmit found Ian Duffus who slotted the ball into the bottom corner. The second half started as the first half had ended with Albion having most of the play although they could not break down the Brompton defence which was lead by Bromptons man of the match Chris Dixon. Brompton netted again through Ian Duffus. The goal of the game was scored by Brompton's Anthony Fryer who picked the ball up in his own half rode three challenges and slotted the ball past the keeper.

Blackfyne

The Under 8s beat Felling B 10-0. MoM Kieran Martin scored 1 with Tom Malone 1, Calvin Hillary 2, Phil McConnell 3 and Jonathan Telford 3 scoring the others.

The Under 9s beat Redheugh 3 - 1 with MoM Andrew Turnbull scoring a hat trick.

The Under 10s beat Whickham Fellside 2 - 1 despite having only 7 players available due to illness. The Bullets played some of their best football of the season on a very heavy pitch. Benjamin Camsell and Peter Westgarth scored the goals with Luke Richardson MoM.

The Under 13s made a great start when Steven Davison scored inside ten seconds. Blackfyne went on to beat the League leaders 4 - 3 with a strong performance from MoM Connal Reed and an excellent display from Goalkeeper Jake Horrocks. Chrissy Muncaster 1 and Connal Reed 2 were the other scorers.

The Under 15s drew 4 - 4 away to Redheugh. In an entertaining game Liam Burns scored in the last minute to equalise. MoM Scott Nicholson 2 and Tony O Brien 1 were the other scorers.

Riverside FC

Riverside under 8s gained maximim points at the weekend. The had a comfortable 4-0 win over the City of Durham Blacks. Ross Hughes scoring a hat trick and Ross Elliott getting the other goal. In their second game Ross Hughes was again among the action scoring both Riverside goals in their 2-0 win against Whitburn and Cleadon.

The under 9s RAR drew 0-0 with Fulwell then beat Redby Blues 2-0 thanks to two goals from Buck. The other Riverside under 9's drew 0-0 with Belford House and then beat Byers Green 3-0. Scorers for Riverside were Smith (2) and Lunn.

Riverside under 10s had a disappointing day going down 2-0 to Durham County Jets and drawing 0-0 with East Durham.

Performance of the weekend came from the under 11's who travelled to Boldon Colts and won 4-2. Riverside went a goal down early in the game but drew level when Jake Clarke, following a strong run down the left, saw his cross turned into the net by a Boldon defender. Riverside then took the lead when Shaun Ryder scored from a free kick and it was Shaun Ryder again who made it 3-1 when he beat the keeper from close range. Boldon pulled a goal back but Mark Graham made the points safe for Riverside when he scored with a tremendous shot from outside the box.

Both the under 12's and under 13's games were cancelled because of the weather.

Thirsk Falcons

Thirsk Falcons U10s beat Brompton U10s 4-1. Front man Dan Easton got the Falcons off to a flying start with a fine left foot volley. The Falcons however then went on o control the proceedings with a long range effort by Ryan McKendry, a set piece headed corner by Mattie Cussons and one deflected own goal. Against Brompton B the Falcons A side came out victors by 5-0. Joint top scorers Ryan McKendry with one and four from Nick Newcombe. 23 goals a piece isn't a bad return for the first half of the season for these two marksmen. Both B teams were drawing 1-1until the break with Liam Evans scoring from the spot for the Falcons. The second half saw Brompton over power the Falcons. The final score ended five goals to one in Brompton's favour. Against Brompton A the Falcons B side lost by two goals to one with Robin Cook scoring the goal for the Falcons.
