A DELIVERY service which brings the best of Yorkshire produce to the retailer's doorstep has had a steady but promising beginning.
Moorsfresh distribution company launched its service two months ago and now expansion plans into West Yorkshire are being considered.
Based in Pickering, Moorsfresh aims to help smaller businesses by reducing their delivery costs and widening their markets.
Refrigerated vans provide a delivery service between manufacturers and retailers.
Company founder Nigel Brotherton said: "Things are going slowly but surely, we have not got the volumes we were hoping for, but the restaurants and hotels are using the service well.
"It has been difficult to get people on board, but we are still learning and we have got more people interested in using the service. There are more than 150 companies on our books.
"We want to encourage retailers to change their ways and, instead of shopping at supermarkets, start to really get behind the local producers."
