A Darlington hairdresser who has coiffed the heads of the rich and famous has set up a home beauty and hairdressing business.
Allison McKay, who has worked with Geri Halliwell, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Jordan, as well as styling models' hair on the top fashion magazines in London, has moved back to her native North-East.
The top stylist, who has more than 20 years' experience, has moved to Hurworth so her school-age children do not have to grow up in London.
Although she is still doing session work, including flying to Beirut recently to do the hair and make up for a Herbal Essences shampoo advert, Allison said her first priority was her local hair and makeover clients.
She covers all occasions, from weddings to parties.
"Although I am still doing session work, if I make appointments with people here for makeovers I will be committed to those first," she said.
Allison started her hairdressing career in Darlington, working at Ann Goddard's salon in Duke Street.
Later she moved to London and made the grade as a top stylist.
Allison can be contacted on (01325) 722816.
