A LOVING home is being sought for a dejected dog whose owner has just died.
Shane, a black Labrador cross with a white star on his chest, was taken to Deerness Kennels, at Langley Moor, near Durham, by his owner's brother-in-law.
His owner died on Saturday, and no one else in the family was able to look after him.
Now, staff at the kennels are hoping to find a loving home for the animal, who is showing signs of grieving for his owner.
Kevin Forsyth, of the kennels, said: "One of the kennel-hands is devoted to him and is spending extra time with him to try and bring him round.
"He is feeling a bit forlorn and is missing his owner. He is very nervous and needs someone with plenty of patience and time."
Anyone who can offer a home is asked to call the kennels on 0191-378 0439.
