POLICE are hoping partygoers will be able to help them track down an attacker who left a man with a broken jaw.
A 29-year-old local man was walking along Redcar Lane, Redcar, and had reached its junction with Ings Road and Thrush Road, when he was approached by two younger men.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "They casually chatted to him before turning the conversation into an argument, when he then felt a blow to the left side of his face, causing him to stumble."
Police say the victim made his way home and only after several days of severe pain, went to his local hospital where he was told he had a broken jaw.
The man's assailants are both in their early 20s. One is about 5ft 8in, the other is about 5ft 10in. Both had short dark hair and wore dark jeans and sweaters.
The incident happened late on Friday, December 21, but details were only released yesterday.
Sergeant Nick Angus, of Redcar Police, said: "This is a busy night in Redcar with a lot of people out partying after finishing work for the Christmas holidays. Hopefully, this appeal will help jog people's memories, to help police with their inquiries.''
