COUNCIL tenants across the borough of Stockton will now be able to pay their rent at any Girobank pay point.
Tristar Homes Limited, Stockton Borough Council's housing management agent, has introduced the payment system, which will allow tenants to pay their rent in post offices, shops, off licences and other payment points.
The payment method also means tenants can pay their rent outside normal working hours and at weekends. The facility will still be available for tenants to pay their rent through local housing centres, the mobile housing centre, by cheque, by phone and by standing order.
Elaine Corney, Tristar Homes' chief executive, said: "This new system means tenants can pay their rent while they are out and about doing other things, instead of having to make a special trip to their local housing office."
Anyone with a query about the new payment method is asked to call Tristar Homes on (01642) 393839.
