POLICE are trying to track down relatives of a man who was killed in a road accident six days before Christmas.
John Roland Brown was killed on December 19 when he was struck by a lorry as he walked on the westbound A66, near the Scotch Corner roundabout over the A1.
Sometimes known as Roland John Brown, he was 41 and of no fixed address and was eventually identified by his fingerprints.
However, officers have so far failed in all their attempts to track down any next of kin, although he is known to have had connections with Cumbria and Lancashire.
Anyone with any information which may help police are asked to contact the special witness line on (01423) 539474.
