POLICE in Sedgefield are appealing for information about a smash and grab raid on the village's industrial estate.
The theft took place at the Andrew Sykes premises at exactly 8.06pm on Sunday evening.
Thieves stole three large industrial heaters, valued at a total of £1,000, from the showroom at the front of the shop.
The raiders smashed through the front of the premises with a vehicle, setting off the alarm, before driving off with the three heaters, which were of different sizes.
PC Keith Todd of Sedgefield police said: "They must have made off at speed because the window was alarmed and they would have been aware that as soon as they broke through, the alarm would sound and the police called.
"It must have taken them only a minute to smash the window and take the items out.
"I'd like to ask if anyone saw a suspicious-looking vehicle round about that time to get in touch."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Todd on (01740) 620272.
