Chester-le-Street Community Association is running a ten-week course called Marketing Yourself, looking at improving job search and application skills.

CARAVAN THEFT: Crooks have stolen a Hobby Prestige caravan from Classic Coaches, Morrison Road, Stanley. The theft occurred between December 7 and December 27. Police believe the thieves used a tractor-type vehicle to tow the 20-ft caravan. Anyone with information is asked to call PC Wilson at Stanley Police Station, on (01207) 232144.
HOUSE BURGLARY: Burglars stolen a Samsung television, a Philips hi-fi and cash, from a home in Ladysmith Court, Stanley. The theft took place on the night of Sunday, December 29. The crooks entered by forcing open a kitchen window with a screwdriver. Anyone with information is asked to call PC Maddick or PC Owens at Stanley police station, on (01207) 232144.
COUNCIL MEETING: The executive of Derwentside District Council will hold a meeting in the council chamber, Consett Civic Centre, on Monday at 3pm.
HEALING SESSION: The National Federation of Spiritual Healers will hold a healing session on Saturday between 1.30pm and 4pm in The Shakespeare Hall, North Road, Durham. Sessions are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
NEW SEASON: Pittington Photography Club starts a season of weekly meetings on Monday when Bryan Gilbert will give a talk called An Introduction to Digital Manipulation. The meeting will be held at 7.30pm in Pittington Village Hall. Everyone is welcome.
ADVICE SESSIONS: Durham Citizens Advice Bureau will hold village outreach advice sessions today at McKenzie House, Esh Winning, between 10am and 11am and at Bearpark Community House from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. People can turn up or ring 0191-383 2885 for an appointment.
MUSIC SESSION: Haswell Folk Club will hold a traditional music session tomorrow in The Wayfarer pub, Front Street East, Haswell, at 8.30pm. Admission is free. For details call the pub on 0191-517 1274.
SLIMMING CLASS: Slimming World is starting a new class at Bearpark Community Association's centre in Front Street on Wednesdays, starting tomorrow at 7pm. The class will be taken by Pattie Webster. Sessions cost £3.75 with a half-price membership offer of £5 through January.
COASTAL WALK: Voluntary countryside ranger Michael Jones will lead a 12-mile walk called Castle Eden and the Durham Coast tomorrow starting at 10am at the car park opposite the Castle Eden Inn, Castle Eden. The walk costs £2, concessions £1.
