THE new Archbishop of Canterbury will next month make his first visit to North Yorkshire since he took office.
Dr Rowan Williams will give a series of talks in and around the Thirsk area, beginning with a lecture at St Oswald's Church, Sowerby, on Friday, February 7.
The next morning he will lead a workshop at Holy Rood House, in Thirsk, and the following day, Sunday, he will preach at the morning service in St Mary's Church.
Visitors are welcome at the Friday lecture and the Sunday service, but only a few places are left for the Saturday workshop.
